The National Gallery is ready for the ban. Are You?
The National Gallery was established in 1824. Designed to be the start of a national collection of paintings, which could be enjoyed by all for free, it quickly grew in size and moved to Trafalgar Square where it has continued to grow and develop into one of the worlds finest collections of Western European art.
The building has had to be changed many times in order to sympathetically house the growing collection.
One of these changes is the Smoking Ban which is due to come into force on 1st July this year.
In order to provide a comfortable and clean environment for the people who work in the National Gallery a smoking shelter was thought to be the best and most appropriate solution for the building.
It provides a place to sit and useful cigarette dispensers help to keep it clean, tidy and safe as well as complying with the new law. The smoking shelter itself is not our standard white but painted black to compliment the Gallery.
We have also provided 2 benches as well as the perch seat and 2 smoking bins and all installed in just two days!
The National Gallery praised our professionalism and also added “We are pleased with the quality of the shelter and we welcomed your suggestion to provide the bench seats. Considering that our order was placed just before the Christmas holiday, you did well to deliver and install so early in January. The black frame was the right decision”
